This is the letter we received, trying to find the location of Pointed Rock. We would appreciate any information you may have on the Town of Pointed Rock ~~~~~~~~~ Don Lunder, April Christenson from Stillwater Chamber of Commerce gave me your name, since she has resigned after receiving my research request, to help me find answers about Harold Pattison, my great grandfather's audio story from his minister days in Montana, 1892-3. I can't find any map showing where he went. He tells some great stories, and says that Jim Paisley (spelling?) had a lot of relatives that he helped & supported. Harold P. said that the location of Pointed Rock, where he got off the "stage" from Dillon, is 80 miles from Bozeman, and Painesville is 40 miles from Billings. So that puts them both where Columbus is. So is Columbus a new name? He then walked 9 miles to Paisley's Ranch in Jefferson valley. Later that year he started the Baptist Church in Bozeman. Can you help me find Pointed Rock and Painesville?
