How Your Town Got It?s Name
Courtesy of John Willard

Lolo --- In September, 1805, Lewis and Clark camped at this spot, then ascended what they called Travelers Rest Creek on their way to the Pacific. Early maps show the creek as Lou Lou Fork of the Bitter Root, probably a corruption of the French name Le Louis.
