Courtesy of John WillardThompson Falls --- Named for the Thompson falls in the river at the south edge of town. Thompson was a British explorer who discovered the river and the falls on his journey from British Columbia to the Pacific. He spent the winter of 1809-10 at the mouth of Thompson Falls.
